The Role

We're looking for a Senior AI Architect to lead the design and implementation of enterprise-grade AI systems while serving as the technical bridge between our CTO's vision and our engineering teams. This role combines deep technical expertise with strong client-facing communication skills and hands-on team guidance. You'll architect sophisticated AI solutions, translate complex requirements into actionable technical strategies, and work directly with enterprise clients to solve their most challenging AI automation problems.

This is not a traditional management role-you'll remain deeply technical while providing architectural leadership, mentoring engineers, and ensuring our solutions meet enterprise standards for scalability, security, and performance. You'll work closely with our CTO to implement strategic technical initiatives while maintaining direct involvement in system design and critical implementation decisions.

What You'll Do

Design and architect enterprise-grade AI systems, including agent frameworks, LLM integration patterns, and scalable automation workflows.
Work directly with enterprise clients to understand complex requirements, present technical solutions, and guide implementation strategies.
Translate high-level strategic direction from the CTO into concrete technical architectures and development roadmaps for your team.
Lead and mentor a team of AI engineers, providing technical guidance, code reviews, and architectural oversight without traditional people management responsibilities.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure AI systems integrate seamlessly with enterprise infrastructure and meet compliance requirements.
Drive technical decision-making for AI model selection, deployment strategies, and performance optimization across client implementations.
Establish and maintain technical standards, best practices, and architectural patterns for enterprise AI deployments.
Stay current with AI/ML research and emerging technologies, evaluating their potential impact on our solutions and client needs.
Participate in client workshops, technical deep-dives, and solution presentations as the technical subject matter expert.
Own the technical aspects of complex AI projects from conception through deployment and optimization.

What We're Looking For

10+ years of experience as a full-stack software engineer with significant AI/ML focus and a proven track record of delivering enterprise solutions at scale.
Strong background in system architecture with experience designing distributed systems, microservices, web applications, and cloud-native applications.
Excellent communication skills with demonstrated ability to present technical concepts to both technical and business stakeholders.
Experience leading technical teams in a hands-on capacity-providing architectural guidance while remaining actively involved in implementation.
Expertise in modern web development (React, Next.js, Node.js) with strong API design and integration capabilities.
Deep knowledge of database technologies (PostgreSQL, MongoDB, Redis) and data modeling for both transactional and analytical workloads.
Solid understanding of LLMs, vector databases, and modern AI/ML frameworks (TensorFlow, PyTorch, LangChain, etc.).
Proficiency in Python, TypeScript/JavaScript, and experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP).
Experience with enterprise software deployment patterns, including on-premises, hybrid, and multi-cloud architectures.
Strong understanding of software engineering best practices, security, and enterprise compliance requirements (GDPR, SOC2, etc.).
Experience with automation platforms like n8n, Apache Airflow, or similar workflow orchestration tools.
Proven ability to translate business requirements into technical architectures and guide implementation teams.

Full-Stack & Technical Leadership Experience

Experience architecting and deploying both traditional web applications and AI systems in production environments serving enterprise clients.
Background in technical mentoring and guiding engineering teams through complex full-stack system implementations.
Demonstrated success in client-facing technical roles, including requirements gathering and solution presentations.
Experience with DevOps practices, CI/CD pipelines, and infrastructure as code for both web applications and AI/ML workloads.
Understanding of enterprise integration patterns, RESTful/GraphQL API design, and data governance frameworks.
Experience with performance optimization, scalability planning, and system monitoring for web applications and AI services.
Hands-on experience with modern development workflows, code review processes, and agile methodologies.

Ideal Background

Previous experience at a consulting firm, systems integrator, or enterprise software company serving Fortune 500 clients.
Track record of successfully delivering complex full-stack applications and AI-integrated projects from initial requirements through production deployment.
Experience building scalable web applications with modern JavaScript/TypeScript frameworks and backend services.
Experience with AI agent frameworks, multi-agent system architectures, and integrating AI capabilities into traditional software applications.
Background in technical sales engineering or solution architecture roles.
Experience with containerization (Docker, Kubernetes) and modern deployment practices.
Familiarity with enterprise security frameworks and compliance requirements.
Experience with testing frameworks, monitoring tools, and maintaining high-quality codebases.

Work Environment & Culture

Important Note on "Hybrid" Work: While we describe this as a hybrid position, as a young, fast-growing company, we prioritize in-person collaboration and team building. Our CTO is based in our Berlin office, and having our technical team physically present is essential for knowledge sharing, mentorship, and maintaining our innovative culture. We expect team members to be in the office most days of the week, with occasional flexibility for remote work. We organize frequent team activities, collaborative sessions, and learning opportunities that require physical presence. This is fundamentally an office-based role with some remote flexibility, not a primarily remote position.
